Top 15 since 1975
at the EUROVISION SONG CONTEST
(I may go back to Top 20, but not just yet)

Why since 1975?

Because in 1975 the current voting system of 12, 10, 8 ... 1 was introduced.
The inclusion of earlier result would be an unfair comparison.

This is based on the following simple calculations:

There are X number of countries in each contest, each one giving 12 points to their favourite song. No country can vote for itself, so the maximum number of points each country can receive is (X-1)*12.

For example:
The 2007 Eurovision Song Contest had 42 (= X) countries participating .
The maximum amount of points it was possible to receive was therefore (X-1)*12, i.e. 41*12 = 492 points.
The current winner AZERBAIJAN received 221 points, which is 43.85% of the possible maximum. (221 / 504 * 100 = 43.85%).
